Karmen and Saro are extraordinary people and their connection is inspiring. They decided to celebrate their love with an elopement at Casa Loma in Toronto. Witnessed by their parents only, they were married at this gorgeous venue, where photo taking is simply bliss. I could not get enough of the setting, we explored the castle inside and out and made full use of its unique architecture and surrounding gardens.
Karmen and Saro, know that being there with you was an absolute pleasure and I wish you all the very best in your life together!
Meeting Annie was truly serendipitous. We had a very good initial connection and later she introduced me to her husband to be, Doug, so we can all have a chat about their day. I simply loved their energy together, I felt as if I was talking to friends I have not seen in a while. Their decision to work with me on their day brought joy to my heart, given their event very much appealed on many levels. The couple had planned for a beautiful, elegant and low key wedding luncheon downtown Toronto, one of my most favorite areas for weddings.
Their choice of the Park Hyatt as a venue was brilliant on all levels, convenience included, as the couple had to only cross the street after their church ceremony.
I really enjoyed being there and recall walking home feeling light, cheerful and energized by a group of people with so much zest for life, good humour and a good party in good company.
Annie + Doug: wishing you all the very best, I hope you will enjoy some fantastic laughs for years to come!
Big Congratulations to a lovely couple: Mitra and Bilal, having brought two very rich cultures together during their rich celebrations.
They got married on a cold, rainy Sunday in May but that truly did not matter. Their smiley faces in the photos below stand as proof for the great time these two have shared with everyone around.
Umbrellas out, jackets in between shots, we made it work. Mitra was such a trooper, it surely was not easy to face the weather adversities in that lovely gown, yet one can’t really tell the cold was slowly getting to her. What a day!
M+B: wishing you only joy and many wonderful moments shared from now until the end of time! Hugs, M.
Irina and George were married this month during a candle lit ceremony at the Doctor’s House in Kleinburg. Warm and charming. They decided to see each other prior and orchestrated a romantic meeting in the same small chapel.
They were joined by the fun wedding party and together, we explored the lovely grounds. Hope the images below give you a good sense of how well put together, minutely thought through and elegant this celebration was.
Irina & George: congratulations to you, may you live only joyous moments together and thank you for having made us a big part of your day! Sincerely, Manuela & Co.
There are so many things that I absolutely loved about Lisa and Jeremy’s wedding…I do not even know which one to mention first. I recall the great feeling I had while walking back home that warm September night (yes, isn’t that great!) and not being able to identify the slightest sign of fatigue after having worked all day. Because it did not feel like that. Contrary, all moments have unfolded in a light, almost refreshing manner, as they should. Looking back, I know it was all in the energy surrounding this amazing couple.
They could not have chosen a better setting for their day. The urban atmosphere was the best fit for their style and personalities. Their wedding was intimate, shared with family members and very close friends. The ceremony & reception location was absolutely splendid: Yorkville’s Sassafraz, a delightful venue I love returning to. This gem amazes me with its simple elegance and the professionalism of a warm, welcoming and dedicated event organizing team.
I hope the images below give you a taste of a fabulous day spent with two of the loveliest people to be around.
Lisa & Jeremy, I am wishing you all the very best in your new life! Sincerely, Manuela
Weddings at the Hart House in Toronto are always a delight to capture. I am so taken with this historic venue’s stunning, charming architecture, the unlimited creative possibilities, the light coming through magnificent, stained glass windows.
A place of great elegance and a photographer’s dream.
Needless to say I am thrilled for every chance I have to go back to this true downtown Toronto landmark and see what else is there to discover, what new corner I have left unexplored. Every single experience is unique.
I was, therefore, very happy to learn that Madeleine and Dagomar chose this location for their celebrations. Everything took place under one roof, which made for a very relaxed day. The weather has also been impeccable.
One more time, I was taken with the talent of the Hart House’s wedding organizing team. I also have to mention the creative kitchen staff and the in house chef, who always surprise me with their culinary art. Beautiful!
M+D: may this perfect day be just the beginning of many more joyous ones spent together. Congratulations and it will be my pleasure to see you again in the future to create more family memories! Yours, Manuela.
As I have traveled quite a bit lately, this blog is a little overdue…lovely couple, beautiful day…will write more soon!
Big Congrats to you, Caitlin and Dale! M
Jessica and Jeff traveled all the way from Western Canada to be with family and friends and celebrate their nuptials together.
The couple chose to get married at the Hockley Valley resort last year, right before Christmas. To everyone’s delight, the resort was decorated beautifully, making for a truly festive atmosphere.
Jeff called me a few days prior to the event to tell me that he was planning to surprise his future wife with something very special: fireworks!
He told me Jessica really loved them and he was hoping to persuade everyone to come outside at a precise time without giving anything away.
I was very touched by the groom’s intentions and his dedication to turning such a beautiful idea into reality.
I have to say, it was a thrilling moment for everyone. Nobody had the slightest guess and they were all left speechless. Including Jessica, whose reaction was amazing and I am sure, the best and most memorable reward for the man who surely loves her so very much. She confessed later that she had always wished for fireworks on her big day!
The show of colours and light was truly fabulous and we all watched it in awe. What a night!
Congratulations to a wonderful couple! Jessica and Jeff, may you enjoy every single second together and live a life full of many wanders!
Almost same time last year, I finally got to meet Lindsay and Rob for a fall engagement shoot. Up to that point, we have been corresponding but never saw each other. We started spending time together and I knew this was going to work just fine between us and more so, we would enjoy the shared experiences to a high extent. The couple chose the quaint Inn on the Twenty in Jordan, Niagara for their wedding day and they clearly were so very inspired to do it. The day was glorious, with impeccable temperature, blue sky painted with a few puffy clouds here and there and of course, with that warm, golden afternoon fall light which makes everything glitter. The most amazing natural backdrop for a couple of people so in love with each other, continuing on their path of joining their lives in high commitment. Beautiful, just like their families they are coming from. Not only I was impressed with the two of them, but loved their parents, grandparents, siblings, everybody else they chose to surround themselves with and share such memorable moments in time. A pleasure to witness, an honor to create some visual records for years to come.
It truly was a joy to be there with them, among ripe grapes hanging heavily in vineyards, a symbol of such abundance which I hope will pave their future.
Be merry always! M
Jen and Mike celebrated their wedding over two bright and beautiful August days. It all began with a colourful and very detailed Hindu ceremony and continued on next day with a great party at Toronto’s St Andrew’s Club.
Easy going and laid back, the couple looked like they enjoyed every moment of their great events.
Jen and Mike, I would like to congratulate you one more time and wish you lifelong happiness and abundance on all levels. Sincerely, Manuela.
