Maternity photos with gorgeous Heather

I first met Heather and Christian in 2008 when I photographed their beautiful wedding. Since, we have got together for a super fun ‘trash the dress’ shoot in the fall of last year to celebrate their first anniversary creatively :) . I was so excited when they announced they were going to have a baby! I feel privileged to have spent so many fantastic, significant moments with these two. It makes my work so much more fulfilling. While I was putting this blog together, Christian kindly emailed me to let me know their little boy Nolan Patrick made it into this world on Sunday November 21st. Even though Heather was due beginning of December, I guess the little one really insisted on being a Scorpio! Very strong sign for a boy, he will much accomplish in his life, as he will employ ‘great magnetic power’ (the zodiac says) :)

Heather and Christian, needless to say how happy I am to know you and want to warmly congratulate you on your lovely addition! May the three of you enjoy each other for a very long time in joy and health! I very much look forward to meeting baby Nolan soon! Love, Manuela

Baby photography journals: Vision Art albums

I am always on a lookout for high quality, beautiful albums to offer my clients and to display my work in. I have heard about Vision Art for a while and decided to give this company a try. I researched their name on forums as well and I found quite a few raving reviews coming from photographers who seemed to be beyond happy with the service. I have to say, I did not quite know how I was going to feel until I actually got to have the books in my hand. I absolutely love the paper, the finish, it feels so soft to touch and guess what, water can be spilled on the pages and nothing will happen! Not to mention the print quality. It is fantastic to see how the colours on the pages match the ones I see on my monitor, they stay vibrant and true to the original photos. I started using Vision Art for my wedding clients as well and plan to continue on doing so, as there are so many cool options they offer. And last but not least, the customer service is superb! I would like to acknowledge one person in particular, her name is Monica and she is a pleasure to deal with! Just give her a call! :)

In order to have a closer look into the design of the book, I am attaching a few layouts below. Hope you will enjoy looking at this pages at least as much as I enjoyed myself designing them.

A beautiful wedding at The Rosewater, Toronto

Heather and Oren chose a stylish, elegant venue for their wedding celebrations. I love photographing downtown Toronto and The Rosewater is simply an excellent choice for a venue. It is modern,  artsy, trendy. I recommend it for all the couples still searching for a great place to hold both their ceremony and reception at. No travel needed, everything is nearby, photo opportunities are plenty. The couple got ready at the great King Edward hotel just across the street, so the day unfolded really smoothly and comfortably.

Heather and Oren, thank you very much for allowing us to document your story, hope the images below will help you remember how beautiful your day was. Big hug, Manuela & Co.

Engagement photo journals: back at Toronto Brickworks

I first met Reyhaneh and Will a few years ago while photographing Will’s beautiful sister’s wedding. Little did I know what this would lead to. I have to say I was super excited when Will contacted me to let me know about their decision to get married down South and asking me to be a creative part of it. Again, little did I know…Only a few short days before our departure to Los Cabos we met to take some fun engagement shots. I do not think I have seen a more excited and playful girl! I was literally not even finishing a sentence suggesting them what to do next that Reyhaneh, with a huge, infectious smile on her face, would already climb a pile of bricks or place herself appropriately against a fun backdrop. I was so taken by her playfulness and willingness to simply enjoy the experience that I knew what was waiting for me just a few days down the road. Well, that is another story I will have to reveal sometime soon, so stay tuned.

All I can say for now is that words cannot describe how I feel when I recall our adventures, thank you for becoming such fantastic friends. Love, Manuela

A wedding at the Sunnybrook Estates in Toronto

Kathryn and Duncan got married on a beautiful September day at the picturesque Sunnybrook Estates in Toronto. In spite of the somewhat moody weather, the celebrations with Scottish accents have flown happily and beautifully. Laid back, going through each moment slowly and with deep joy, the couple was a delight to photograph. I have had the privilege to meet so many nice people during this event and share wonderful conversations over the delicious meals. Not to mention the dessert table: what an explosion of colour and fantastic variety! I definitely enjoyed myself admiring it, photographing it and last but not least, sampling it. Gosh, I need to go get some cake now! :)

Dear Kathryn and Duncan, thank you so much for allowing me to witness and capture your day, may you stay happy and joyous for the rest of your new life together! Big hug, M.
