Andrea comes from a wonderful Italian family I have followed with my camera at special times. Matt loves traveling to Italy and exploring his heritage. He talks about it passionately. Together they are sweet, gentle and caring to each other and to all the loved ones around. A bit on the reserved side, they both hold a lot of emotion in and it shows in their eyes. There was a certain softness about their entire day, starting with how angelic Andrea looked in her dress and long veil. I remember photographing her at her parents’ house and being in awe while watching her almost dreamy silhouette bathed in white light. After a touching ceremony, we strolled on Kleinburg’s main street for some fun, relaxed shots and then returned to the Doctor’s House not for a consultation but for cocktails Hmmm, I miss summertime and Martinis on a terrace!
Andrea and Matt, may you enjoy each other’s company for many many years to come, I will be watching through my ‘telescopic’ lens Love, Manuela
Janny and Howard had two days of wonderful fun. I had a hard time going through all the images trying to narrow them down so I could tell their story in the most evocative way. Janny and I share the love for red. I like how this accent stands out throughout their photo essay. Following their wedding ceremony at The Manor, we met again next day for some park fun. In spite of the fact that we had to wait for over half an hour for the rain to stop, we somehow lucked out and we could play around in the most beautiful light. And guess what, we found more red elements to add to the story! It was a very nice and relaxed shoot, the wedding party was cheerful and in the mood for a cool photographic experience. We all went to the Diamond Banquet Hall afterwords where I witnessed a fantastic dance the couple performed in front of an astonished audience. I was so very impressed by their elegance, not to mention the fact that Janny looked so beautifully Spanish in her stunning red dress. I want one just like that, Janny please let me know if you sell it! Janny and Howard, may you stay very happy and dance away for years to come! Hug, Manuela & Co.
Arrived here yesterday, after an almost sleepless night…but seeing and hearing the ocean paid off for the long day of traveling and waiting in long lines at customs. Los Cabos and the surroundings are wonderful, my favorite spot so far in Mexico. The coast lines are dramatic, love seeing mountains around! Shooting an intimate wedding tomorrow followed by what I anticipate to be a fantastic ‘trash the dress’ session. I will post some great images in a while, stay tuned! Manuela
PS: My room has a great view, this is what I see when I wake up
I know I said this before, but I love Churchill Park. It is my oasis 10 minutes away from where I live. I take walks there to clear my head and simply take in the smell of leaves and the fantastic views over downtown Toronto. I walked there a few days ago and, to my disappointment, all the graffiti was gone! Therefore, Mona & Emon were the last to get some cool vibrant engagement photos against it. That day was quite something! It started with light rain and then, all of a sudden, the clouds broke into white puffy patches just to make room for an amazing blue sky. The sun started to shine, the light became beautiful and warm, we had a blast! Even more exciting, Mona and Emon decided to get married down South. I can’t wait to join them in Punta Cana in January! One of the most gratifying aspects of what I do is experiencing continuity. Becoming a part of families’ lives and being there for them whenever they celebrate special events. Using my camera to turn moments into history. I was thrilled to learn that Greg, one of my previous client’s brother (lovely Cristie), decided to have me capture his day. I could have not felt more honored and at the same time, super excited to see so many familiar faces again in the context of a superb celebration! Laura, Greg and their wedding party were a lot of fun to follow around in their chosen urban setting. After the ceremony that took place at the elegant St Lawrence Hall downtown, we simply went around and captured many spontaneous moments unfolding naturally. We returned to the hall for more great time. Not to mention the silliness in front of the photo booth! Greg’s lovely sisters corrupted me to have some snapshots together and I do not even want to know how those turned out!
Laura and Greg, many thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day, it was fantastic being there with you and your family members I cherish deeply. Hug, Manuela & Co.
