I love the Niagara region. I enjoy looking at vineyards drawing green lines across fields and inducing a sense of calm into the eye. Not to mention how nice it is when ripe grapes hang in colourful bunches releasing an intoxicating aroma. Jenn and Ben chose such a setting for their intimate wedding. It was the first time for me to shoot at the Hernder Estate and all I can say is that I hope I can go back next season for more! There is a sense of calm and peace surrounding the Estate, an abundance of photogenic spots, so much to take in and process! When the couple first mentioned this superb location, I got super excited just by looking at the photos on the website. When I got there, everything was even better than I could have envisioned, it felt like a playground with surprises around each corner.
Having said all this, it is quite easy to imagine how my day has been. Simply one good moment preceding an even better one. In spite of the rain and the fact that the ceremony could not be held outside as per the original plan, the skies seemed to calm down soon after and we still managed to go outside in beautiful, gentle light when all colours pop.
Dear Jenn and Ben, hope you will enjoy looking at the images below, many more will follow! Big hug, Manuela.
Alannah and Scott had a very unique wedding at the wonderful Callan Farm. All elements simply fit into place and the result was astounding! I could have not asked for more that day: beautiful, inspiring location, great weather and a fantastic wedding party! There were so many things around that made for unique backdrops: green soy fields, barns and a dramatic sky. After taking some fun family and couple portraits, we moved to the party area, a large tent beautifully decorated with so much care for detail. Not to mention the food stations which were a wonderful touch to the guests’ delight.
I remember leaving that night and thinking how nice it is to celebrate in the middle of nature, surrounded by loving family members and great friends…Allannah and Scott, I hope you are having a wonderful time in Europe and that these photos will help you bring back some of the magic we shared. Big hug, Manuela.
Monica & Pete had an intimate celebration with family and close friends at the Old Mill in Ancaster. From the moment Monica arrived at the venue, she has giggled non stop throughout the day and I remember thinking: this is going to be fun! How can it not be when the energy around is so uplifting, the couple extremely laid back and simply loving every second of their day, their companions a riot and last but not the least, weather – the best a person with a camera could ask for! The ceremony was held outside and afterwords we had quite the time with Monica’s red Mini which, as an indispensable part of her life, had to be included in the images we took together. If we had more time on our hands, I am sure this could have easily turned into a shoot in itself!
Monica and Pete, congratulations one more time and may your new life together be blessed with joy, laughter and adventures! Love, Manuela
